Trump Wins Second Premier League Event

JUDD Trump has won his second PartyPoker.com Premier League mini-tournament after beating Neil Robertson 3-1 in this week’s final in Exeter.

The 22-year-old from Bristol snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the first frame as he cleared the colours and downed the black to win by a single point.

The second frame was a scrappy affair, but 2010 world champion Robertson eventually levelled with a break of 30.

An entertaining break of 59 was enough to give Trump the third frame, and he sealed his victory with a run of 76 in the next

After the match, Trump expressed relief at having won the event, which effectively sealed his place in the semi-finals. He said: “I’m very pleased to have won again. It’s such a high standard in the Premier League and all games are tough.

“It’s always good when you have the luck and you need luck to beat top players but I still had to win the frame.

“I’m in a good position now and I can relax and just watch the others battle it out.”

Robertson could take some comfort from his victory over Shaun Murphy earlier in the evening, which put him into second place in the table.
