RISING Thailand star Passakorn Suwannawat beat former world champions Mark Williams and Ken Doherty to book his place in the last 16 of the Paul Hunter Classic in Furth, Germany.
The 25-year-old, who made a name for himself in last month’s World Cup, beat world number 34 Gerard Greene in the first round, before going on to record a 4-1 victory over world number one Mark Williams, who came into the tournament having played some of the best snooker of his career in recent months.
Suwannawat ended the day with a scrappy 4-2 victory over Ken Doherty, and now plays Welshman Jamie Jones in the last 16.
Meanwhile, Mark King completed a 4-1 victory over Matthew Stevens, before losing to Mark Joyce in round three. Joyce now plays Neil Robertson in the last 16.
